Since opening our doors in 2019, we have cultivated strong, long-standing partnerships with some of South Africa’s largest and most respected dairy farmers. These trusted relationships form the backbone of our supply network, ensuring that every calf entering our programme comes from reliable, sustainable and well-managed herds.
Many dairies struggle to find productive use for the calves they breed each year. At Beyond Beef, we have created a mutually beneficial solution: we breed their cows and guarantee the offtake of specifically bred calves, providing a reliable and profitable outcome for both the dairy farmer and our breeding program. This approach adds real value to their operations while ensuring we maintain the high quality and consistency of our Wagyu herd.
Through this network, we collaborate with over 40 dedicated calf breeders, giving us breeding access to their cows each year. This level of consistency allows us to carefully select and rear only the healthiest, best-quality calves with the genetic potential to thrive within our Wagyu beef value chain.
